fall sparkle.

What i'm most excited about fall is that we can break out the sequins again! Nothing like adding bit of razzlin' and dazzlin' to an otherwise utterly boring outfit. I love me some sparkle...if you have not noticed by now. And that is why i'm swooning over J. Crew's fall collection. I love the fabulousness of piled on bling paired with a plain t-shirt. I too am a big supporter of their "round-the-clock sparkle".

for the love of polaroids.

Every time I see a polaroid picture, it brings back nostalgic memories of my childhood. There was a time before digital cameras and digital SLRs, when film and polaroids were the norm. I remember just sitting there, shaking and blowing on the photo; anxiously waiting for the image to appear. There is something rather instantly gratifying about seeing a memory appear before you eyes. I'm so happy that Polaroid brought back their instant camera. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these again!

etsy love - pi'lo

I've had an etsy crush on pi'lo when i first came across her shop sometime last year. It's one of those shops where it makes you want to buy EVERYTHING. Each piece has been so thoughtfully designed and hand-made, making each item that much more special! Look at all the linen goodies...

a + s invitation.

As I've previously mentioned and promised, I designed wedding invitations for my friend Sokie who is so near and dear to me. Oh boy, was this quite the process/experience but we are more than happy with final outcome. Her colours were a deep red and silver/cystal theme, so it was only right for break out the silk boxes, hand-strung crystals and layered vellum sealed with a custom wax stamp. I did not want it to be too overdone but yet not understated. The dainty string of crystal added just enough sparkle to the invitation without being borderline tacky. I think all in all...we found the perfect equilibrium.

stationary love - one fine dae.

These matchbook notepads by One Fine Dae are definitely swoon-worthy. I loved how each set was named these after some of their favorite on-screen couples,
'rick and ilsa' from the infamously classic Casablanca and 'rhett and scarlett' from Gone with the Wind. I'm equally in love with the remember this album which evokes my memory and love for polaroids.

lovely weekends.

i had a lovely relaxing weekend spending copious amounts of time in bed (the way leisurely weekends are intended to be spent). i finally got to watch Eat Pray Love on friday night and i loved it, mind you that I hadn't read the book prior to seeing the film.i spent the latter part of the weekend with family; dimsum-ing and of course shopping. here are some lovely goodies that I came across while shopping this weekend...

makeup collection.

I've been wanting to do this post for a while now and haven't really got around to doing it, but here it is. This is my makeup collection, not all of it is shown but you kind of get the idea.


My vanity isn't huge so having a three tier train case really helps. I got train case from MAC about 5 years ago and I absolutely love it. As you can see, it's getting more cluttered by the day. I'm still trying to figure out a new/better storage solution.


Here is a closer look at what's in the train case. This is where I house my blushes, lipsticks, foundation etc. (palettes, not shown)


I know that a lot of people prefer to store their brushes in a brush holder but I find that storing them in a brush roll makes finding brushes easier. A majority of these are MAC and Chanel brushes. Chanel makes some of the best eye brushes that I swear by!


I have enough blushes and MSFs (mineralized skinfinishes) to make me look like a disco ball for a lifetime and this isn't even all of it. I love MAC and NARS blushes. NARS has some very pigmented blushes that come in an array of gorgeous colours.


I'll let you in on my skincare secret...yes, Proactiv! People rarely believe me but I've been using it since i was 14. I know that it doesn't work for everyone but since it does for me...if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Three things I swear by is, cleanse, tone and moisturize. I've used a lot of moisturizers over the years and many of them have made me break out or makes my makeup streaky. My favourite one that i've been using is the Biotherm Aquasource Moisturizer. I find that it quenches my skin with moisture yet, does not leave my face with a greasy film. I tend to switch to the 'Dry Skin' formulation in the winter time when it's drier outside. I finish off the regimen with La Mer Eye Concentrate.


Vaseline is one of my HG (holy grail). Since I'm allergic to eye makeup remover, vaseline has become my new best friend. It's virtually multi-purpose and can be used for anything and everything.

Herriott Grace.

I was browsing on Flickr as usual and then I stumbled upon this image by Nikole Herriott. What i would give to trade places to be in front of that cup of hot cocoa with fluffy marshmallow clouds w/ a dash of peppermint of course...I then went to to discover her lovely shop. Nikole and her father have a shop Herriott Grace that sells small handmade wooden goods from 100% salvaged wood. Their story is truly inspiring and heart warming.

i heart lists.

I'm a list lover...i make lists everywhere on just about everything. To do's, restaurants, places to travel to, things i need to buy, ideas that i have to jot down etc. I think it has something to do with the satisfaction of crossing it off at the end of the day, the sense of productivity (or lack of). And while i am going to make lists, i might as well do it on pretty fancy notes pads like the ones from by modernemotive. I love the "rome wasn't built in a day" notepad the best because it brings out the procrastinator in me.

sneak peek.

I know that my entries have been lacking (yikes, this is starting to become a frequent opening line) but with good reason i promise! I've been spending every free moment working on invitations for one of my bestest friend Sokie's wedding...and believe me when I say the process epitomized murphy's law, because seriously everything that could go wrong, DID! There were many many panic attacks, printer blotches, package delays and late late nights spent stringing crystals, cutting vellum and melting wax. But the end result was very much worth all the blood, sweat and tears...here's a sneak peek of the process aka.(mess we created), the finished product to be shown later.

packaging love: TOT-a-LOT

nothing makes me smile with glee the way brilliant packaging does! i almost melted into a puddle a mush when I saw the adorable packaging design for TOT-a-LOT. The boxes are designed are to be like sliding drawers, that can be personalized with the names of babies and so parents can reuse the boxes as and for storage. Cute + environmentally friendly!
