bloom photography love.

The obligatory ring shots are my absolute favourite photos from any wedding shoot. I had to post these shot of Jenn's engagement ring. Her ring shots have always managed to exceed my expectations and with these shots of her own ring...i would not expect any less from her. Absolute love....

my MUST-HAVE makeup essentials.

Guerlain - Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder. It gives the perfect colour for that year-around glow, without being overly shimmery.

Laura Mercier - Secret Camouflage,
the most absolutely BEST concealer EVER. it covers everything and anything...especially when i don't get enough sleep which is probably mon-friday. the dual colors work to create the perfect color to match the skin. no more...extra-light concealer raccoon eye look!

Chanel - Teint Innocence Naturally Luminous Compact. I get asked a lot what makeup do I wear because my skin seems flawless...keyword is "seem" because anyone can, if wearing the right foundation. This is my secret to that smooth, dewy and glowing skin. I know a lot of people don't like using foundation, however i find that wearing just powder just alone isn't enough. By the end of the looks like my makeup has evaporated somewhere. I swear that putting it on literally feels like water splashing on your face and quenching into your skin. I focus usually just on the cheeks since i have combination skin, plus it evens out my skintone. Then I follow with setting it off with the Chanel - Poudre Douce Soft Pressed Powder in Pêche.

NARS - Blush in Luster
gives my skin that peachy glow, without looking overdone! It's work virtually on any skintone.

Dior Waterproof Diorshow Mascara - is worth every penny!! At $34 a pop...even I was hestitant. This is truly the BEST and is worth every beauty/choice award out there. It makes plumps the lashes without the clumping and does NOT smudge. I've even wore to bed after a tired-too-lazy-to-take-off-makeup-night! I woke up the next day without any raccoon eyes. Best $34 i've ever spent!!!

La Mer - Eye Concentrate. My most expensive skincare/make up purchase EVER! At $260 a jar, it's downright robbery!!! I know that i'm not 50 nor do I have wrinkles so why the splurge?! It helps reduces dark eye circles which is a primary problem of mine. Gives me the look of a full nights rest, preventing wrinkles is just a bonus.

Laura Mercier - Lip Glace in Opal. My fav of fav colour. It's the perfect shade of pink, the glace gives me that glossy shine without that sticky feel. You can wear it alone or what I love to do is wear it over a nude lipstick for a different look.

This is a wrap about my makeup rant. I'm guilty for actually writing this on Thursday and posting it today. I mean who isn't writing next weeks entries today?

Happy Friday everyone!!!

I picked up this book awhile ago and it's better than I'd like admit. It wasn't until recently that I had fallen completely in love with their Elizabeth and James line. I was not so fond of their bohemian hobo chic phase but their style has really evolved and grown on me. The book is full of cool interviews with amazing designers...DVF, Karl Lagerfield and Christian Louboutin to name a few... I love the rawness and honesty of these artist/designers. A plus...all the cool fashion!

“There is no such thing as fashion. Fashion is an idea to make you think that you’re not in it at all times. Fashion is what you’re offered four times a year by designers-and style is what you choose.” – Lauren Hutton

spice avenue.

last night, i had the liberty of attending Spice Avenue's invitational grand opening dinner. the food, the atmosphere and the company were all amazing. armed with two of my professional photog friends in tow, my SLR took the night off! First off let me gush about my fabulously talented friend Jenn Huynh of Bloom Photography. I love her raw and edgy style. Be sure to check out her website. She can seriously even make paper napkins look good!

bib necklace love.

please excuse me as i wipe the drool from my mouth. i'm soooooo loving this trend at the moment. nothing makes me go 'gaga' than an oversized, overly encrusted, jeweled statement necklace. it seriously dresses up any plain outfit. the vera wang ones are to die for! now, this is what i call collectable art ;)

club monaco vintage

I've always been huge fan of Club Monaco, more so now than when i was younger. I was floored when i saw club monaco's vintage jewelry collection. i mean...i can literally die now and i'd be the happiest girl on earth. Club Monaco has added all the glitz with equal the glam with their if i-don't-get-i-will die gorgeous vintage jewelry collection. The sad part is that it's only sold at very selected locations in New York and Beverly Hills. *sad sigh* i'm on a mission!!!

hot dates.

we've been dating a LONG time...circa 2002 if my memory recalls correctly. we've dined at every hot restaurant there is in the city, true foodies at heart. we have traditions of taking 8164131235 pictures in the car, obligatory pictures of food and should be even blacklisted at some restaurants. we've attended every summerlicious and winterlicious event religiously, stood for hours in line at Toronto Film Festivals in the name of movies and to be in the same room as Oprah!!! The most random but good things always happen to us when we are out. We can con our way out of parking tickets and meet strangers who give us american money for the next time we go to new york. She is my hottest date and the awesome photographer of Once Upon A Photo, who made this beautiful video.

I heart* her to pieces!

nuit blanche

on saturday night we headed out to Nuit Blanche, Toronto's version of a contemporary art's night out. from sunset to sun rise it's a celebration of contemporary art taking over the streets for ONE NIGHT ONLY. which meant lots of picture taking and meeting up with friends for a night of artsy fun. Sokie and I were a little disappointed in the "art" and that the event was highly over-rated. the hi-light of our night was definitely the Fun Slide and Nikko's big news!! Congratz to him and his beautiful fiance Liz.

side note: we don't look so crazy with our SLRs when everyone is busting out theirs and their tripods...
